Gap Year New Zealand :: gap year ideas :: become a nomad

Become a Nomad

Bit of random option this - probably why you're reading it right now! So what do we mean? Well in New Zealand there is loads of opportunities to just get away from everything and take some time out on your own.

It's really easy to buy a campervan or car and then just hit the back roads or the coast. Sleep in your vehicle, rise with the sun, brush you teeth on the road side - we hope you get the picture!

Areas like the East Coast of the North Island or the Catlins at the bottom of the South Island are nice and quiet. There are some great little homestays and small hostels where you can relax in front of an open fire or take a kayak down a secluded river.
