Amazing Walks

Even if you're not the fittest person in the world, there are some great walks and hikes in New Zealand that have scenery that will blow your mind!

We've listed a couple below to give you a taster, but for the full list check out the DOC website at www.doc.govt.nz .

Abel Tasman Track

Situated at the top of the North Island, the Abel Tasman has lovely hot days, white sand beaches and crystal clear waters. You can walk the three day trail on your own or as part of a group and you have the option to camp or stay in DOC huts overnight. The track is an amazing experience as you walk along the beaches and through forests, then up onto headlands and even through water! This place has got to be seen to be believed!

The Abel Tasman is my favourite spot in New Zealand. It's such a great place to kick back and relax in the sun. I have now walked, kayaked and sailed the track but will still be back for more! Ed - Staff

Milford Track

The world famous Milford Track takes you up into the Fjords and over to the renowned Milford Sound. This track can be booked up months in advance. During the walk you stay in DOC huts and carry your belongings on your back. If you've seen Lord of the Rings you'll understand the type of scenery youll be walking through - towering snow peaked mountains, streams and waterfalls and some great forest!
